Haunted: Swan Lake Resort

The Swan Lake Resort is haunted. Sitting across from Swan Lake in the New York Catskills, it is a sprawling complex of buildings with thousands of rooms. Once a popular vacation destination for affluent New Yorkers, the resort is now used as a boy’s sports camp one month a year. It is derelict and abandoned, a lonely relic of the family camping trend of the 1960's. It takes days to wander the whole of its spider-infested grounds, and although you may see no ghosts, you can feel the creeping anxiety of echoing footsteps. In this place, long hallways end in darkness. Wind whistles through cracks in the windows and blows doors shut. Distant sounds reverberate through the pipes in the walls. Flickering light bulbs dangle from the ceiling of its dark basement corridors.

You would not want to be here alone at night.
